Information Processes and Technology is the study of computer-based information systems. It focuses in information processes performed by these systems and the information technology that allows them to take place. Different types of information systems are studied. Through project work, students will create their own information system to meet an identified need. IPT is a computing course with a focus on Information Systems.
Students will learn about:
- Hardware and its function
- Software and its uses and how to use the software effectively
- Information processes that take place within any given system.

Students who are interested in learning about both the hardware and software components required to put together an information system will be suited to this course. You will develop knowledge and understanding of information systems, information processes and a variety of computer based technologies which could be used in industry or for further study. It produces students who demonstrate skills that are akin to a system analyst.
