This course provides students with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Multimedia industry and its related technologies. Through a process of analysing industry practice and engaging in personal practical experiences, students develop a broad range of skills and knowledge related to the focus area chosen for the course.
The course emphasises the importance of design, management, and production through the creation of practical projects. Students select and apply appropriate design, management, and production skills in the development of a Major Project and supporting documentation. This hands-on approach ensures that students are well-prepared for future industry challenges and equipped with valuable, real-world skills.
As a Preliminary Multimedia student, you'll have the opportunity to tell powerful stories through photography, film, print, and animation. You'll utilise a range of tools from the Adobe Suite, gaining hands-on experience while further developing your skills in these powerful software applications. This course offers a solid foundation in multimedia production, preparing you for more advanced studies and projects in the field.

In the HSC course, students design, develop and construct a Major Project with a Management Portfolio. They will also undertake a study of the overall industry related to the specific focus area industry.
